start living.

Start living life for yourself.
Do what YOU want.
Make it what you want.
And remember, no one expects anything from you.
And if they do, dismiss them
because really,
when it comes to the end,
YOU should be completely satisfied with yourself.

done.

Goals

So, today I decided to set a new list of goals for myself.
Why? Because the old set of goals I already accomplished.

So here I go.

1. Get my Nikon D3000 camera for Christmas.
2. Finish Season 3 of Lost before Christmas.
3. Get only A's and B's in school.
4. Save all the money my father gives me for lunch instead of spending it on lunch.
5. Become a better Christian, because I miss God.
6. Work harder on my craft.
7. Take more pictures.
8. Wear my glasses ALL the time.
9. Set priorities straight.
10. Be more observant of people, things, and places around me.
11. Don't drink soda.
12. Don't bully others mentally (basically don't talk behind people's backs).
13. Ride my bike more often instead of getting on Facebook on weekends.

And done. :)

The 25 things.

The 25 things.

1-I sometimes have writing urges,if you will, which means I'll come up with an amazing essay or poem, but the amazingness will only last a day. The next day i'll try to write a poem and it won't live up to the one I wrote yesterday.

2-I hate it when people on facebook put an intense dramatic status. Example: "You've taken this too far. Now there's no going back." They just want attention. It gets annoying. And out of the 500 friends you may have, 3 or 4 care or KNOW what you're talking about.

3-I confirm plans(even ones I make), but I only occasionally go through with them.

4-Just knowing that I have family somewhere far that loves me is enough to keep me going.

5-When people want my attention, the worse thing they can do is poke my shoulder over and over. It's my biggest pet peeve.

6-Before I put movies on my Netflix list, I make sure it's recommended by someone I know, or there are really great reviews on it.

7-When I was younger I would organize my crayons by color in my crayon box. But it was pointless because once I put my crayon box into my bookbag it would get messed up again.

8-I repeat the word "really" if someone does something really immature. Like if you're spitting on my face I'll say; "Really? ..really?".

9-I think of myself as a pretty simple person.

10-One of my favorite things to do is bike in the rain.

11-I leave post-it notes all around my room to remind me of things I have to do. They're everywhere.

12-At the age of 9, my dad promised me a tree house, after a lot of begging. It's been 8 years and he still hasn't built me it.

13-I wish I had the same hunger for knowledge as I did when I was in elementary school.

14-Most of the books on my bookshelf I started reading and never finished.

15-If you put my iPod on shuffle, you'd find really popular songs, and then songs no one would even think of putting on their iPod, like t.v. theme songs from my childhood, or Disney World music that you hear when you're IN the park.

16-I never forget that I owe people money. Every time I see them, it's the first thing I remember.

17-Awkward silences are probably the worst thing ever. I never know what to do in them. And even starting a conversation up, the conversation becomes awkward.

18-A raccoon ate my bird when I was 6 years old.

19-If you can make me laugh, you can definitely be my friend. hah

20-Trips are the best. A trip anywhere outside of Miami already makes me 10 times happier.

21-I only speak Portuguese at home, so during the summer when I get together with friends and I have to speak English, my tongue feels really weird, and I search for the translation in my head first. I even have a little bit of a portuguese accent.

22-I'm horrible with names, but great with faces. I've had friends that I didn't know how to call them because I couldn't remember their names.

23-If I crack the fingers in one hand, I feel tempted to finish the job and crack the other 5 on the other hand.

24-When I go to restaurants, I always pick the table farthest away from anyone else, and sit in the seat facing towards the least people. I hate strangers watching me, especially if I know it'll be for more than half an hour.

25-If I know everything is not lined up in my living room, like the couch, rug, or t.v., I can't watch a movie until I line it all up with the tiles on the floor.

26-I'm done.

Music for the soul

I just discovered this great independent band called POMPLAMOOSE. Introduced to me by my wonderful friend Hanah Rose, this band makes songs their own, such as Beyonce's Single Ladies, which is my personal favorite by Pomplamoose.

Here's a link. You can download their songs for free.

And here's the two movies which I'm looking forward to that open in theaters soon;

The pleasures of theatre

Can anyone explain to me why being onstage feels so right?

It's not something many people feel, and some people may go their whole lives without this unique feeling, and I'm not just speaking of theatre. It's with any career.
It's when you know it's what you were put on earth to do. The rush, the joy, and the satisfaction after an opening night makes it your purpose. Well, my purpose.

Theatre is a complex thing. It's taking the interesting and intense moments from life, transforming it into an art piece, and showcasing it on the stage, all the while sending a message through to your audience.

And yes, ladies and gents, it's a career. It's not as easy as you may think. The training never ends. Ideas never die. I could say that the theater audience is dying down, but I don't want to.

I'm proud to be a part of such a great theatre community(which is also surprisingly very small, I know people who know Sutton Foster personally).

If I were to divide my day into chunks, I'm sure half of it would go to rehearsals and theatre classes.

“Theater is, of course, a reflection of life. Maybe we have to improve life before we can hope to improve theater.”

-W.R.Inge

I feel-

I feel;
like someone came and took away all the bad things in my life.
like there's a hurricane coming.
like life has just begun.
satisfied.
love for others.
the earth beneath my feet.
free.
many things that can't be put into words.
like no one can stop me.
amazing.
like I know things.
like my goals and dreams couldn't be clearer.

But most of all, I feel;
good.

JUN11OR: Class of '11

So, I've just begun my Junior year at New World School of the Arts. Other than New World being the BEST school I've ever attended, and it rating #63 of the top 100 Best Schools in the COUNTRY by the USNEWS (http://www.usnews.com/articles/education/high-schools/2007/11/29/gold-medal-schools.html),
It's very hard to keep up with all the schoolwork and rehearsals. Since it's my Junior year, I now get to be in Connection, which is this Performing Musical Theater Group that travels around South Florida. I've had rehearsal every day starting on the Monday of last week, and getting home at 7:30 PM. I also get other privileges from being a Junior, like being in the Musical this year in the Theater division, and going to State Thespians, etc. On top of that, there's also all of my theater classes, with play reports and projects to prepare, all the dance classes, and voice lessons, among other classes. Not to mention all the Honors courses that I'm taking in my academics classes! So, I've been very stressed. People deal differently with stress.

I would say the best way that I deal with stress is...Well, I don't know how. Stress takes ahold of me, and makes me treat people around me differently. So, for those of you that are reading this and thought this would be an advice column on 'How To Cope With Stress', I apologize. Anyway, the musical for this year is 'How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying'. I'm not very fond of it; the music is cheesy, the storyline could be better, and it's from the 1960's(haha).

I'm trying to cram my whole life into this ONE blog, sorry readers.

I recently watched '12 Monkeys'. It was very enjoyable, and different from most movies. I'm watching 'The Great Debaters' tonight.

I'm reading 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest'. It's GREAT, and like most people say; "The book is MUCH better than the movie."

Alright, I have nothing else to write...
Except to go visit my youtube channel if you have some extra time.
here's the link: www.youtube.com/xstepharooo
It's an old youtube acount, so please don't judge me harshly.

Have a great weekend everyone. Happy Labor Day. HA

Goodness! ANOTHER bad film?

I pretty much hate overrated actors.
Actors might've done some great movies when they were younger, like Jack Nicholson in 'The Shining' and 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest', but they are recently cast in dumb-plotted movies just so the producers receive more money from the box office, like 'The Bucket List'.
Sure, it had great acting, but they cast Jack and Morgan Freeman to make up for the bad script.
Another example is Jim Carrey in 'Fun With Dick and Jane' and 'Yes Man'.
Don't you remember when he did 'The Mask' and 'Batman Forever'? Such great movies! His skits on SNL were wonderful. The man is good, he's great, but he's been cast in so many crappy movies recently people think otherwise.
Robin Williams is also another good example.
These actors have all had that period of the hit-and-miss, but I think they could've made a better choice when agreeing to be cast in shabby movies.
Maybe it's just all about the money.

And speaking about movies, my goodness there are some pretty disgusting movies out recently, and by disgusting I mean completely and undeniably lousy! Example; Monsters vs. Aliens, Hannah Montana:The Movie, G-Force, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, Land of the Lost, Year One, and many more.
What has happened with the film industry? They can't come up with something better to write. Disney's swimming in their own pool of money, and all they can come up with are these unoriginal scripts with even worse actors. Pixar Studios is really the only good branch from Disney Pictures.

I am anticipating '2012' and 'Inglorious Basterds'. Supposedly, they're both going to be very good, and I'd never turn down a Quentin Tarantino film.

So, next time you go to the movie theaters, make sure to read some reviews on your movie first, if you don't want to waste your money on a half-witted film.

These pictures are from SOME of my favorite films, either ones I can watch over and over, or that I really enjoyed its plot.
If you don't agree with them, then you probably shouldn't take my movie suggestions.

The kid asked a question. What will you answer, grown-up?

Sooner or later, an adult must find their way around an answer to children's complex, or rather simple yet hard to explain, questions. I'm not talking about the common "Where do babies come from", but children pose so many questions, you've got to come up with creative answers, right?

So my little sister, who is 6 years old, came up to my mom and asked her to smell some sort of scented lip balm she had in her hand. My mom had a cold, so she replied that she couldn't smell it because she had a "stuffy nose". My sister stared at her with a puzzled look on her face; she didn't understand the term 'stuffy nose' until my mom said, "My nose is broken. It's not working."

I remember all the questions I'd ask my parents when I was younger, like how pools were made, or how far the stars were, to which my parents answered in the simplest of ways; "A man dug a hole in the ground and put water inside", and "Veeeeeeery far away." Before I learned how to read, I'd drive my parents insane, asking them to read street signs, books, license plates, peoples t-shirts, and basically anything with writing on it.

We've all been through it, and looking back on it is the best part. It was fun to be a kid, I think.

Very First Blog!

After reading other people's blogs and seeing how easy it was to start one, I became inspired. I may not be the best writer, but it's a way to keep track of all the interesting things that may happen in the future. Not looking for many viewers, this is just for my own personal pleasure. So if you are visiting my page, I hope you enjoy it.

Today is August 3rd, 2009. The countdown to school has begun, leaving all the children in Florida with 20 days left of freedom. I used my time wisely, and traveled to Sao Paulo, Brazil to visit some of the family. For my brother's birthday, we stayed for a week at Walt Disney World, which of course, made me as happy as any 7-year-old. I probably enjoyed it more than my brother did.

To wrap things up, I haven't read my Summer books which, in turn, will make me very stressed in the next few days.

Hope to keep writing every so often.
